It was believed that the god of harvest resided in cherry trees, and so cherry trees were seen as ""fruit-bearing trees,"" and festivals were held around them in the spring. This is said to be the origin of cherry blossom viewing.

<Plum Blossom / Ume>
The plum blossom is the first to bloom during the cold season, so its flower language is “patience,” and it is said to be a flower that brings spring by overcoming difficult times.

<Kanoko>
This pattern is called Kanoko because it resembles the spots on a fawn's back. Deer have long been considered messengers of the gods and have been treasured in Japan. This pattern is often used on kimonos for babies and children, as a talisman against evil and to bring divine protection.
